The Department of Physiotherapy Techniques at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for women was established in the year 2018 after a couple of exploratory rounds by specialists in physiotherapy. Due to an extreme lack of female individuals in this field and the ever-increasing cases of muscular injuries the establishment of a specialized department for Physiotherapy was affirmed by the the specialized committee .The department holds a distinguished position among others by graduating women with highest level of academic qualification and practical knowledge making them capable of providing the best services across the medical centers in the field of physical therapy.

Graduating highly qualified medical cadres specialized in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation by providing a stimulating environment for learning, creativity and advancement in the field of physical therapy and supporting the conduct of research and scientific and practical studies effectively for the development of community health.

Objectives :-

The department aims to graduate technical staff in physical therapy and medical rehabilitation and acquire work skills in the treatment of adults and children having neurological, psychological, internal, surgical, hearing and speech disabilities.The department aspires to :

  1. Preparing and training a highly qualified and skilled cadre to provide medical care and physiotherapy for people with movement disorders, physical impairments and functional restrictions, and to athletes in all games inside and outside stadiums, and raise their physical efficiency.
  2. Training graduates with the technical skills to work on modern physical therapy devices in hospitals, sports medicine, the Ministry of Youth, the Olympic Committee, sports federations and rehabilitation centers.
  3. Providing high-quality educational programs that keep pace with the latest developments and develop strategic plans for follow-up and continuous training of those responsible for implementing treatment programs.
  4. Encouraging and supporting scientific research in the field of physical therapy and physical rehabilitation.
  5. Strengthening relations with the health and service sectors and relevant community institutions by opening outpatient clinics that provide services to patients and injured in their advanced laboratories after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education.
  6. Plan and develop cultural courses concerning physical therapy with an aim to increase the access to the latest scientific developments in the field of physiotherapy.
